句首的 on / in doing sth 可以去掉介词吗

On going into the kitchen,I turned on the light because it was dark.

In winding itself round the wires,the snake had send sparks to the ground and this caused the fire.

这两句话逗号前是状语从句吗，在目前分词前为何要加一个介词，可以去掉吗?

任何状语从句，都是由连词开头引导的。网友的两个句子开头都是介词（in；on），是介词短语，不是“状语从句”。这是基本定义，千万不可混淆。

介词on 表示的时间，等于as soon as 引导的从句，表示前后两个动作紧接着发生。

介词in 表示的时间，是一个过程，等于介词during 或连词while，when。后面句子的谓语动词就发生在“在此期间”。

两个介词on 和in，只须不引起歧义，原则可以去掉。网友的句子去掉后，表示的时间仍然明确。
